Keeping the cost down
- A rewire is far cheaper with floors up and rooms empty — sequence it first.
- Landlords need an EICR every five years; book it with other works.
- Check the firm is registered with NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA.

- How much is a full house rewire?
- Roughly £4,000–£6,500 for a two-bed terrace and £7,000–£12,000 for a four-bed house, including certification but excluding making good plaster.
- Do I need building control sign-off?
- For most notifiable work, yes — a registered electrician self-certifies it, and that should be included in the quote.
